What does this tool do?
Tells you how long is left until a date that comes round every year: a birthday, an anniversary, the day a contract renews. It gives days, weeks, hours and minutes, the weekday the date falls on that year, and the age that will be reached if you wrote the year as well.
What the countdown measures
The target is the start of that day, in UTC. That is deliberate: “three days to go” that changed depending on which country you read it from would be useless. The hours and minutes are that same distance, so 5 days reads as 120 hours.
Keep in mind
Leave the second field empty to count from right now, or set it to any date to see the countdown as
it would have been (or will be) on that day. A date entered without a year — 12-25 — works too, and
then the tool does not invent an age. Everything is calculated in your browser.
