Cookies policy

What we use to run the tools: nothing
You can use every tool without accepting anything. The tools run in your browser, so there is no session to keep and no cookie is required for them to work.
Local storage (not a cookie)
These entries live in your browser's localStorage. None of them is a cookie and
none of them is sent to us:
host-tools:theme— the light or dark theme you picked.-
host-tools:usage— how many times you have used each tool today, so the free daily allowance works. -
host-tools:supporter— marks that you supported the project and should see the site without ads. -
host-tools:support-code— the code that links a payment to your browser. -
host-tools:header-promo-dismissed— that you closed the promotional banner.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to see how many people use each tool and which pages get read. It is how we decide what to work on next without having to ask you for anything.
Google Analytics sets identifiers such as _ga and _ga_<container>,
which let it tell one visit from another. Nothing you type into a tool is sent.
The tools run in your browser and what you put in them never leaves it; analytics only sees
that a page was opened.
Those cookies are written only if you allow analytics in the consent message. Until you do, the site loads with permission refused by default and so does its measurement: what arrives is anonymous and cannot be linked back to you or followed across other sites.
Advertising cookies
When advertising is enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to serve, personalise and measure ads. These are third-party cookies controlled by Google, not by us.
On your first visit you are shown a consent message provided through Google Funding Choices, the consent management platform used on this site. There you can accept or refuse the use of cookies for advertising purposes, and you can change your choice later.
How to control cookies
- Use the consent message to change or withdraw your consent, whether for analytics or for advertising.
- Clear your browser storage to remove the supporter flag.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the tools will keep working, because they do not depend on cookies.
