URL Encoder / Decoder

Percent-encode and decode URL components locally in your browser.

What does this tool do?

URLs can only contain a limited set of ASCII characters. Percent-encoding (also called URL encoding) replaces reserved or non-ASCII characters with a % followed by two hex digits — for example a space becomes %20. This tool encodes text into percent-encoded form and decodes it back, entirely in your browser.

When you need it

You use URL encoding when building query strings, form data or links with special characters. Encoding is not encryption: it only makes text safe to put in a URL.
