PDF to Word

Extract the text from a PDF into an editable Word document, without uploading the file.

Drop a file here, or click to choose one

The PDF never leaves your browser: the text is read here.

What you get is the text, in the order it appears, one paragraph per line of the original, with a page break where the pages break. No images, no columns, no tables and no styling: a PDF does not store any of that in a way that can be rebuilt, and a tool that promises it is guessing.

What does this tool do?

Takes the text out of a PDF and writes it into a Word document you can edit. You choose which pages, and you get a .docx with one paragraph per line of the original, with a page break where the pages break.

What you get, and what you do not

You get: the text, editable, in reading order, in a real Word file.

You do not get: the layout. A PDF does not store paragraphs, columns or tables — it stores pieces of text with coordinates. Rebuilding the design from that is guesswork, and a tool that promises an “identical Word file” is inventing the parts it cannot know. Here the text is exact and the design is gone, which is the honest version of the same trade.

If your PDF is a scan

A scanned PDF has no text inside: it is a photograph of a page. This tool says so plainly instead of handing you an empty document. For those, the right tool is PDF to JPG, and then whatever you use for recognising characters.

Keep in mind

Nothing is uploaded: the text is read and the Word file is written in your browser, and the original PDF is not touched.
