## What does this tool do?

Draws the pages you choose as JPG images. You pick the resolution: the size the PDF declares (72
dpi), 144 dpi for slides and screens, or 216 dpi for printing, which makes bigger files.

## Why the pages do not come out black

Translating a PDF page into an image needs a background, and a JPEG has no transparency. Whatever is
not painted comes out black — which is why so many converters return black pages with a bit of text
on them. Here the page is filled white before drawing, which is the only way to get what you see in
the viewer.

## One page or many

One page gives you a JPG directly. Several pages are packed into a single ZIP, because a browser only
lets a page download one file per click and the rest would be lost.

## Keep in mind

Every page is a fresh image at the requested resolution; a 20-page document at 216 dpi is a heavy
ZIP. The file never leaves your browser: the pages are drawn on your own machine.
