## What does this tool do?

Generates Lorem Ipsum placeholder text: by paragraphs, by sentences or by words. You decide how many
you want, whether it should start with the classic “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet”, and whether you
want the result wrapped in `<p>` tags to paste straight into a template.

## The counts are real

The numbers under the box are counted from the text you can see, not estimated from the request.
If you ask for 50 words you get 50 words, and the sentences and paragraphs are grouped from those
same words, so the three figures always agree with each other and with what is on screen.

## Keep in mind

The text is the well-known Latin placeholder, which is a mangled quotation from Cicero’s *De
finibus* and has been in the public domain for two thousand years. It is not a translation of
anything you wrote, and search engines do not treat it as content — it is for layouts, not for
pages you intend to publish.
