# Delete PDF Pages

## What does this tool do?

Takes pages out of a PDF and gives you a new file with the rest. You write the pages that go — `3`,
`2-5`, `odd` — and it tells you how many would be left before you press anything.

## Why you name the pages that go

Because that is how the problem is thought about when the document is in front of you: “this page is
a duplicate”, “this one is blank”, “this one is the draft version”. Naming the pages you want to keep
works too in the split tool, which is the other way round.

## A PDF cannot be empty

Removing every page is refused with a sentence that says so, rather than producing a broken file that
no viewer can open. And if a page number is outside the document, the message says how many pages it
has.

## Keep in mind

The pages are removed from the copy that gets written, not from your file: the original stays exactly
as it was, so trying again costs nothing. Nothing is uploaded.
